Researching and Reporting

Code:5HO522

Info:

The service economy relies on particular research methods techniques in order to cope with the intangibility of the products and an inherent customer focus.  Understanding consumers’ wants and needs as well as satisfaction levels is still an under-skilled and under researched area. Therefore, individuals with analytic skills and the ability to match the importance of consumer awareness to research skills are in demand within industry.

This module aims to develop your skills for research, which will be pertinent within their relevant service sectors and further academic study. The module will focus on the basics, including identifying a research question, analysing information, reviewing literature, collecting and analysing data and presenting the main findings in a professional and concise manner, using appropriate ICT, complying with University of Derby Research Ethics Policy and Code of Practice.
